Sessions

Come to one or come to all!

Student Loan Forgiveness

Our first session centers on the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. It is the most popular and inclusive loan forgiveness program currently available through the federal government. We will also cover other loan programs including the Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program (Title I) and Perkins Loan Cancellation. Lastly, we will discuss the different repayment plans as supplements or alternatives to forgiveness programs.  We know that many educators are burdened with high student loan debt so it is imperative to address that debt first, so that in the proceeding sessions we are able to focus on other important topics including budgeting and savings. Even if you do not have a loan yourself, you probably know someone that does and that may find this information useful. We hope to see you at our kickoff session!

Debt Management & Retirement Savings

This session will give you a new way to think about your financial landscape and empower you to sit in the driver’s seat. We hear all too often that someone else in the household is in charge of the finances and we believe that all members need to be informed and educated. Finance doesn’t have to be weighed down by industry jargon and complicated numbers. We bring the most basic principles behind budgeting and saving to the table to help you understand how your financial discipline today can make huge strides for you in the future. We also give you tools and resources to help stay on track during your daily life.

Family & Legacy Planning

We love teachers because they love and guide our kids. Unfortunately, this means that sometimes you are so busy taking care of everybody else that you sometimes leave open items on the table at home. What happens if the unthinkable happens is a tough conversation and that is why we save it for last. Without being too gloomy we simply take you through an exercise that asks the question, what if? We give you a sheet of paper that draws a line down the middle. What happens if something happens to you and if you are dependent on anyone else, perhaps a spouse or parents, what happens if something happens to them. All we hope to accomplish is helping you understand that any preparation is better than no preparation, whether that be a will, trust, or even life insurance. Taking care of things like this today when everyone is healthy is much easier than leaving someone with a huge burden during an adjustment or grieving period.
